Last night, Dad and I went to a Grand Illumination. We didn't go there to enjoy the Christmas lights though. We joined up with some people from our church and another group to do some evangelism. While some of the people got up and did some street preaching...
...I sent most of my time handing out gospel tracts. I don't think I have ever seen such a sea of people before. There certainly was no lack of folks to give tracts to.
I was surprised that there were so many hecklers. People would randomly walk by and shout things at the preachers. You wouldn't think that at a family friendly event, people would start yelling profanities in reaction to what they were hearing...but they did.
I wish I could have taken more pictures. It was freezing though and in between handing out tracts and trying to keep from turning into a human icicle, there wasn't much time for pictures. I only took six, which is a record for me considering how snap happy I can become.
One thing that was reinforced during this trip was the fact that the mission field isn't just in darkest Africa or in communist countries. It's here. In America...as close as next door.
