If I said I've had a good day, that would be a huge understatement. I've had a fantastic day! I was able to pass my American Literature CLEP test and was able to take some pictures of a very special baby girl.
My friend, Allison, recently had a baby girl named Esther. I asked her if I could arrange a visit and take some photos of the baby. The whole idea was rather extreme. I didn't want to do just a couple of random snapshots...I wanted to set up a photo studio, with props, and proper lighting. I cannot tell you how thrilled I was when I was given permission. It is kind of a dream situation to be able to do something like that for me.
I had heard a lot of horror stories about baby photoshoots. Some babies just cry, others are terrified of the clicking camera, and some won't tolerate you for more than two minutes. I wasn't really nervous, but a little apprehensive that the shoot could either go really well...or really really bad.
I am beyond thrilled to say that the entire thing went fantastically! I was able to take pictures for a good hour. Mrs. J., Mrs. T. (the grandmas), and Allison were unbelievably helpful and we were able to do a lot of different things. Esther was the perfect little model! The whole experience was great and I think we got some really good photos. :-)

Little crocheted caps are all the rage right now in infant photography. We couldn't leave Esther out on this and I was able to make some hats and create some flowers to go on them.

It amazes me the number of photos I had to take to get some good ones. I had read up a little on how to best manage a baby shoot and the number one tip was...take photos...lots and lots of photos. I couldn't agree more! Besides...it's just so much fun to keep on taking those photos!
My favorite photo!

Thank you so much Allison and Eli for letting me come in and transform your home into a photo studio. I loved it! You have a truly precious little girl.
P.S. - Meredith, the camera I use for all of my pictures is a Canon Rebel XSi.
