~ My Quilt ~

Five years ago, when I was twelve, I made a quilt. The fabric came from different people from around the country who were all exchanging fabric so that they could make a quilt from it. Because the fabric came from all different people, the finished quilt looks like a hodgepodge. A nice hodgepodge, but still a hodgepodge.

Two months ago, I began working on another quilt. It is a sampler quilt and I am taking a class that shows me what I need to do. So far, I have ten blocks...

I decided to go with just blue and white, because I think it looks more classic. Also, I am going to put it away in my hope chest (when I get a hope chest) to use in my own home. That is why I leaned away from pinks, purples, and colors like that. I don't know many men who want a girly quilt on their bed.

The entire quilt has to be hand quilted. So far, I have been able to keep up and have all of my blocks quilted and ready to go.

The people giving the class warned me that it would be an intense project. It is. But I am enjoying it a lot. As I get more done, I will post about it.

Wow!! What beautiful quilts! I love the idea of sharing fabric around the country...I have never heard of that before. I look forward to seeing your quilt when it is finished. I think the blue and white look really nice together!

I love your quilt squares Micah!!! Thank you so much for bringing them to church on Sunday. I really enjoyed looking at them. :) I can't believe you are sewing it all by hand! It looks so professional!
