5K!

I got up early this morning and headed out to run my first 5K! It was a really interesting experience. The variety of runners is amazing. You have everyone from the men in mini shorts to the ladies in jeans. You can tell who are the real, hardcore runners though. They are incredibly fast!

I think my main worry was that I would trip up on people. However, people ended up spacing themselves out and that was nice. I suppose the other thing that bothered me was the idea that I would end up looking ridiculous because I am not the fastest runner and certainly not the sportiest girl out there.

I was amazed when I finished the 3.2 mile race in 27 minutes! That is three minutes faster than I usually run. I was also really surprised to find out that I had won second place in my age group! I'm not just pleased, I'm thrilled!
